We are looking for a colleague that strong experience of developing on Dynamics NAV/Business Central and strong experience in automated testing development using AL language.

As an Automated Testing Developer, you will work with our AL Test Automation Team Lead for developing, executing, and managing automated testing processes for our software solutions and contribute strong to building test suite for our product 4PS Construct UK and some of our key customer-specific enhancements to the core product.

You should have in-depth knowledge of AL test automation framework, and using this expertise to set up test scenarios that ensure the quality and stability of our product and customer-specific enhancements to the product.

You must have

  • 10+ years of experience of developing on Dynamics NAV/Business Central, with 5+ years of experience of developing on Business Central using AL language
  • User-level familiarity with one or more functional areas of Business Central – such as Jobs, Service Management, Sales, Purchase, Finance, Inventory and HR.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in AL test automation writing
    • AL test automation codeunits
    • AL test automation libraries
    • Integrating AL test automation code in build pipelines
  • Strong AL Development skills including
    • Creation of AL objects (tables, pages, table and page extensions, xmlports, reports, interfaces etc.) to support new business needs
    • Modifying business logic using event subscribers
    • Supporting extensibility of software by implementing event publishers
  • Ability to understand and write PowerShell scripts
  • Background in Git/Azure DevOps – including CI/CD, branching and pipelines
  • Have the ability to understand written requirements and specifications;
  • Have good communication skills and you are a team player;
  • Are able to share knowledge and work with colleagues internationally;

Besides that you should have

  • Consultant-level familiarity with one or more functional areas of Business Central – such as Jobs, Service Management, Sales, Purchase, Finance, Inventory and HR.
  • Familiarity with new technologies such as Azure, Microsoft Power Platform, Dataverse, Github Co-pilot etc.
  • Experience in upgrading clients from older NAV versions to Business Central
  • Familiarity with third-party products such as Continia Document Capture and Expense Management, Tasklet, Spindle etc.
  • Developing and maintaining interfaces to third party portals/websites for Rental Management, HR, Payroll and other products

Ideal candidate should be based near Birmingham and able to travel to 4PS Offices in Birmingham UK for 2 to 3 days a week.
