At 4PS, we believe that learning isn’t just a perk – it’s a necessity. Staying ahead means creating a culture where growth is constant, curiosity is encouraged, and mistakes are embraced as learning opportunities. In this blog, we share how we’ve built a thriving learning culture that drives individual and company success and helps us stay flexible, innovative, and ready for the future.
At 4PS, we see personal development not as something that is a luxury but as a necessity. Recent research undertaken by “Great Place to Work” shows that many of our employees appreciate our learning culture and believe that it helps them perform better. We strongly stand behind this: in world that is constantly evolving, continuous development is essential for both our success and the success of our employees. When they grow, 4PS grows with them. Read on to learn how we shape this learning culture and stimulate growth.
We define a learning culture as an environment where learning is central. An environment where employees are encouraged to try new things, make mistakes, and learn from them.
The reason we emphasise a culture of continuous learning is simple: “Our work at 4PS is highly knowledge-intensive, and outdated knowledge quickly becomes irrelevant in our field. That’s why ongoing growth is vital – not only for the quality of our work but also to maintain motivation and perspective. A strong learning culture ensures engaged employees who feel supported in their ambition to grow,” explains Lotte Gaasbeek, L&D Coordinator at 4PS.
Clare Seymour, Support Manager at 4PS UK, shares why having a learning culture matters so much: “At 4PS, staying on top of learning is key to keeping up with what our customers need. With new tools like AI and the Power Platform, we can find even better ways to support them. In such a fast-moving industry, it’s all about putting people in roles where they can really thrive. When our team members are happy and doing what they’re good at, it positively impacts everything – including our customers. By always learning and growing, we stay flexible, innovative, and ready for whatever comes next.”
Several key values support the foundation of our learning culture:
Our learning culture comes to life through concrete initiatives and programmes offered by our Learning and Development department.
“All new employees start with a personal leadership program, where they learn to set goals and take responsibility for their development. Additionally, we provide access to LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft certifications, and other e-learnings and workshops to help employees enhance their skills,” Lotte shares.
“But the most important aspect of learning and development is learning on the job,” Lotte adds. “This is why mentors play a vital role in onboarding new employees. We also offer a dedicated program for our leaders, where we train them in coaching skills. This makes it easier for team leaders and managers to guide employees in their development, ensuring that growth becomes a continuous process that doesn’t end after the onboarding phase.”
As we mentioned at the beginning of this blog, we are always looking ahead.
“To further strengthen our learning culture, we are currently exploring the possibilities of a new learning management system. This platform will provide employees with easy access to learning opportunities and help them shape their own career paths. Additionally, we continuously expand our training offerings to meet all individual learning needs, regardless of role or location,” Lotte explains.
At 4PS, we encourage every employee to take part in our development programmes and to embrace their own growth journey. Is learning something you see as a never-ending journey? Check out our vacancies. Who knows – you might grow with us – or maybe we’ll grow because of you!
