I’m thrilled to be speaking at Directions EMEA 2024 alongside my colleague Riccardo Sausa in Vienna this November. For those who aren’t familiar, Directions EMEA is one of the most important events in the Microsoft Dynamics ecosystem, especially for those of us focused on the SMB market. It’s where partners like us come together to share insights, network, and learn from some of the brightest minds in the industry. This year, the event is packed with opportunities to delve into ERP, CRM, Cloud solutions, and, of course, the Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics 365 Business Central, and Azure.

At 4PS, we’ve been dedicated to ensuring our customers get the most out of their investments in Microsoft technologies, and this year, we have a special story to share. Riccardo and I will be presenting on a topic close to our hearts:

“Future-Ready Consultants – Strengthening Bonds with Customers While Bridging Talent Gaps.”

What We’ll Be Talking About

Our session focuses on something we’re passionate about – how to create a win-win partnership between companies and their customers while also addressing the skills gap we often see in the consulting world. There’s a growing concern in the industry about the scarcity of skilled consultants and the lack of future planning for talent. We know this all too well at 4PS, where we are always looking to innovate not only with our technology solutions but also in how we nurture talent.

That’s where our collaboration with customers comes in. Rather than relying on traditional recruitment and onboarding processes, we’ve found a solution that involves working directly with our customers to bring in new recruits.

Riccardo’s Journey – A Case Study

One of the key highlights of our session will be Riccardo’s personal story. As one of our first graduate trainees to be integrated into this new training model, Riccardo’s experience is a testament to how well this approach can work. He joined 4PS in early 2023 after completing his degree in Business Management and quickly found his footing thanks to the Microsoft Talent Program. This program has been a game-changer for us, giving graduates like Riccardo the skills and confidence to thrive in this fast-paced environment.

Riccardo’s role involves working closely with one of our major customers, where he has become the main point of communication between the two companies. Through this collaboration, Riccardo has developed an incredibly valuable skill set, all while being supported by 4PS and the customer. His journey is a great example of how investing in people can produce fantastic results for both the business and the customer.

What You Can Expect from Our Session

In Vienna, Riccardo and I will walk you through the key components of this new training model. We’ll share the challenges we’ve faced, the lessons we’ve learned, and the best practices we’ve developed to ensure our consultants are well-prepared to meet customer needs.

In our session, we’ll tackle the consulting industry’s skills gap by partnering with customers to recruit and train new consultants, funded by the customers. We’ll highlight how this tailored training differs from standard onboarding, with insights from the Microsoft Talent Program and Riccardo’s success story. We’ll also share practical lessons and best practices for implementing this approach.
