2023: A Year of Milestones and Achievements

As 2023 draws to a close and we head into the festive season, in this edition of our newsletter, we are taking a moment to reflect on some of what has been happening at 4PS UK during the year.   We want to celebrate milestones and achievements, showcasing how we’ve grown and evolved over the past twelve months.  So, please sit back and join us as we revisit the best of 2023 and look ahead to an even brighter future in 2024!

Year in Review: A Reflection on 2023

As we look back on 2023, 4PS UK is proud to share what has marked this year of exceptional growth and recognition for our hardworking team. Our achievements are a testament to our team’s hard work, innovation, and the unwavering support of our clients and community.

Acquisition by Hilti Group

In July, we announced the acquisition of the 4PS Group by Hilti Group as part of a strategic step to expand its software business. By adding 4PS’ innovative software solutions to Hilti’s existing software offering, we are joining forces to enable companies in the construction industry to optimise their business processes both now and in the future. This will strengthen Hilti and 4PS’ position as leaders in the construction industry’s digital transformation.

Awards and Recognition

In November, we were honoured to receive not one but two awards for our end-to-end integrated ERP solution, 4PS Construct.  First, we received the ‘Construction Management Software of the Year’ award at the 2023 Construction Computing Awards – for the second year in a row. This was swiftly followed up by the ‘Construction Software’ award at the National Building and Construction Awards in association with BITA.  These awards highlight our commitment to advancing the industry through digital innovation and providing real-time visibility and control to construction companies.

Our General Manager, Val Clarke, was also shortlisted for the ‘Inspirational Leader in Construction’ award at the Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering Awards in association with New Civil Engineer and Construction News.

Microsoft Partnership

We’re always immensely proud of our partnership with Microsoft, and this year saw us demonstrating our commitment to the Microsoft community in several ways.  Earlier this year, 4PS Product Manager Niall McGovern hosted a session at Directions 4 Partners Days of Knowledge, a Directions 4 Partners conference focused on training and acquiring knowledge.  At Directions EMEA in November, another Directions 4 Partners event, 4PS General Manager Val Clarke presented an enlightening session called ‘Addressing Skills Shortage and Fostering Diversity in Business Central Businesses’.

A keen awareness of the critical skills shortage within the Microsoft Dynamics community drives our involvement in Microsoft’s Reskill initiative at 4PS. Addressing this skills gap is essential for us and the broader Microsoft community, and as part of this initiative, we were pleased to welcome Zain to the team earlier this year.

Sustainability and Social Responsibility

In our commitment to sustainability this year, we appointed 4PS Support Consultant Greta Rusteikaite as our champion.  Earlier this year, Greta completed a 3-month Green Advantage course with the Aston Centre for Growth, which has helped to enhance her knowledge of organisational sustainability strategies. Post-course, Greta has actively applied her learnings, assessed our carbon footprint and initiated changes like transitioning to renewable energy by switching our energy provider. She surveyed 4PS employees to gather insights on sustainability and improvement suggestions. With her guidance, 4PS plans to implement further sustainability improvements in 2024.

Fundraising for Crash

Supporting charities is important to us at 4PS UK, and this year, our charity of the year, chosen by 4PS employees, was CRASH. CRASH is the construction industry’s charity, helping people who are homeless and those receiving hospice care by constructing and refurbishing the buildings and places they need. This year, we have supported CRASH in various ways, from teambuilding events to coffee mornings to a Christmas jumper day.  We’re proud to support a charity making a real difference in people’s lives. CRASH has helped to transform the lives of thousands of people by providing them with safe and secure housing, and our goal is to make a meaningful contribution to their cause. By contributing to CRASH’s mission, we can help construct places that care for people and positively impact society.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

As ever, the mental health and wellbeing of the 4PS UK team has been at the forefront of our minds. This year, we’ve worked on our allotment and enjoyed the fruits (and vegetables!) of our labour.  We’ve continued with our regular in-office seated massages provided by Jo Kerr of JK Reflections and taken part in mindfulness and stress awareness sessions. Julia Mitchell from Healthy Steps joined us in the office to lead a refreshing Tai Chi Qigong session for the 4PS team. As part of the Birmingham Business Park community, we took part in a hanging basket workshop and hosted a fantastic Menopause workshop on behalf of Birmingham Business Park.

We want to take this moment to extend our best wishes for the festive season to everyone and also want to thank you for the support we received in 2023.

As we step into 2024, we are excited about the future. We promise to continue delivering the excellence and innovation you’ve come to expect from 4PS UK, and we look forward to sharing another year of inspiring content with you!
