We recently had our summer event for all colleagues – whether working in the office or remotely. At the same time as participating in a fun teambuilding event, we also managed to raise money for CRASH. Here Val Clarke, General Manager at 4PS UK, talks more about the activity and the funds raised.
At 4PS, we believe in fostering a sense of unity and enjoyment among our employees. This year, we hosted an exciting summer event that brought together the best of both worlds – an interactive team game played through our smartphones, enabling our remote colleagues to participate.
We understand the significance of inclusivity and ensuring all team members feel involved, regardless of location. With this in mind, we aimed to organise a team-building activity that everyone could enjoy at home, on vacation, or in a different office, allowing them to join in the fun remotely.
As part of our fundraising efforts for CRASH this year, we arranged an activity with Wildgoose, who generously donated 25% of the cost directly to the charity. Wildgoose has revolutionised the traditional treasure hunt concept into a gamified, mobile-first experience. They offer a variety of virtual, in-person, and hybrid activities designed to bring teams together, combat feelings of isolation, and, most importantly, have a great time!
The game, ‘Level Up,’ was filled with thought-provoking questions and enjoyable, interactive challenges that teams had to tackle. As each level progressed, the tasks became increasingly complex. It was a fun afternoon, from recreating famous works of art to acting out a scene from Old MacDonald and showcasing our line-dancing skills! After all the excitement, those at the office replenished our energy with some delicious burritos before convening a company update meeting for all our colleagues.
In addition to the in-office festivities, we provide our employees a summer gift each year. This year, we gave employees a choice between receiving a gift voucher or donating to our selected charity. As a result, we contributed £700 to CRASH on behalf of our 4PS colleagues. CRASH is a charity dedicated to the construction industry, assisting homeless individuals and those in hospice care by constructing and renovating the buildings and facilities they need. Through collaboration with companies in the industry, CRASH offers pro bono professional expertise, construction materials, and financial grants to support essential building projects for homelessness charities and hospices. It’s heartening to witness our team’s appreciation and support for the incredible work carried out by CRASH.
We firmly believe creating an inclusive and engaging work environment is fundamental to a company’s success. By organising events that cater to both our in-office and remote employees, we can celebrate the diversity of our team and ensure that everyone feels valued and included.
