Putting the Fun in Fundraising: Red Nose Day 2023

At 4PS UK, we believe in giving back to the community and making a difference in the lives of others. We proudly support Red Nose Day, an annual fundraising event organised by Comic Relief. This UK-based charity raises money to tackle poverty and provide life-changing assistance to those in need.

Since its launch in 1988, Red Nose Day has raised over £1.4 billion – the proceeds of which have been used to fund a wide range of charitable projects, including supporting people struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and helping to tackle issues such as homelessness, mental health problems, and food poverty, here in the UK and around the world.

As part of our commitment to this cause, we held a virtual fun quiz virtually to fundraise for Red Nose Day. The quiz was organised by some of the younger members of the 4PS team, and it was an excellent way for us to unite as a team and make a difference in the lives of those who need our help.  The tricky questions ranged from “What dog breed has the longest nose” to “What does the moon smell like”. It was held at the end of the day, and as it was online, everyone was welcome to participate from wherever they were working that day! The quiz was a great success and helped us hit our fundraising target for Comic Relief. A big well done to those who made it onto the podium, with 4PS Support Consultant Liam winning overall!

In addition to the quiz, we also organised a sweepstake – ‘How will Ellie Taylor hit the dance floor this Red Nose Day’.  This involved paying £2 and picking one of the dance moves. The Comic Relief website revealed the result as….the Roly Poly.  Alas, nobody picked that move, so there were no winners at 4PS, but some nice money was donated to Red Nose Day all the same!

We were really pleased that, from our two activities and generous donations from the 4PS team, we could exceed our initial target and contribute £347 to Red Nose Day 2023. We raised money, had fun and brought our colleagues together for a great cause. We look forward to doing it again next year!

How does our money make a difference?

• £5 could help feed a child for a day at a community hub in the UK during the school holidays
• £10 could go towards buying a hygiene pack so that a young person sleeping rough in the UK can keep clean
• £200 could provide hot meals for 50 elderly and vulnerable women in the UK

Every little bit helps to positively impact the lives of people in need.
